Duo show an amazing Head(way) for heights
In a remarkable display of courage and community spirit, two of our employees Nickola Banks and Gurcharn Jackson took on the thrilling challenge of walking The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Despite the cold and breezy weather, they took on this daring feat, not just for the thrill but to raise funds for Headway, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by brain injuries.
The Big One is a roller coaster that stands at an impressive height of 213 feet (65 meters) and features a first drop of 205 feet (62 meters) It is the tallest roller coaster in the UK and a prominent landmark on the Blackpool skyline. To reach the top, Nickola and Gurcharn had to climb a daunting 420 steps.
The duo’s brave endeavour successfully raised an impressive £1,000 for Headway. This charity plays a crucial role in providing support and services to those who have sustained brain injuries, helping them rebuild their lives. Headway offers a range of services including rehabilitation programs, support groups, and information resources to assist individuals and their families in coping with the aftermath of brain injuries.
Nickola and Gurcharn’s commitment to this cause highlights the importance of community involvement and the impact that collective efforts can have on supporting vital services. Their achievement not only brought excitement and attention to the cause but also contributed significantly to the ongoing efforts of Headway in making a difference in the lives of many.
